SANTA CASA DATA CENTRE SUFFERS TECHNICAL FAILURE HALTING EUROMILLIONS BETTING

PRESS RELEASE: A technical failure that occurred in the Santa Casa da Misericórdia data centre prevented betting on the Euromillions through intermediary terminals.

During the morning of this Tuesday, the 24th, the terminal system, the portal and the Jogos Santa Casa App were down on the Euromillions result day.

“Jogos Santa Casa's terminal system, portal and app are offline due to a technical failure in the data centre, and the problem is already being resolved, with every effort being made to ensure that it is in the shortest possible time”, the Games press office said at the beginning of the day.

“Following the technical failure that occurred early in the morning at the Jogos Santa Casa ‘data centre', resulting from a series of complex, unexpected technical episodes that took a long time to repair, it was not possible to recover the operation of the intermediaries' terminals in time for the acceptance of the registration of bets for the Euromillions draw”, which had a jackpot of €52 million, explained Santa Casa da Misericórdia in a statement.

Santa Casa said that everything was back online and functioning property by the afternoon of 24 May.
