Principle Cleaning Services & Savills’ Double Victory at the Kimberly-Clark Professional™ Golden Service Awards 2024

At the London Hilton on Park Lane on 23rd May, the cleaning industry swapped sponges for sparkles to attend the 2024 Kimberly-Clark Professional™ Golden Service Awards, which was supported by gold sponsor, Kärcher; silver sponsors, Bunzl Cleaning and Hygiene SuppliesNationwide Hygiene Group and SOAP20 and bronze sponsors, ECOBreeze and BioVate Hygienics.

Principle team members and a number of our partners from WorkFitCBRE’s 1 Sheldon Square and Savills’ London Bridge CityKing’s Cross and 52 Lime Street were amongst the more than 500 cleaning industry professionals celebrating the very prestigious awards, for which we were shortlisted in five categories.

Although a testament to our commitment to excellence, innovation and client satisfaction, to reach the final judges’ stages at a time when the cleaning industry’s standards and expectations have never been higher was a huge honour. We were therefore thrilled to be announced the winner of best cleaned premises in collaboration with Savills for not just one but two categories!

Award-winning sites

Best cleaned premises – leisure: Principle Cleaning Services & Savills’ King’s Cross Estate

At the King’s Cross Estate; a large, vibrant and bustling environment, our dedicated cleaning team has been recognised for their commitment to pristine cleanliness and immaculate upkeep in the leisure category. Our team ensures that the estate’s public spaces, amenities and recreational areas are always welcoming and hygienic for visitors and tenants. This award highlights our ability to maintain high standards in dynamic and high-traffic environments.

Following the judge’s visit – which was carried out independently by the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) – to the King’s Cross Estate, they commented; “There is more to this site than meets the eye. With its own unique challenges there is nothing they can’t handle, with its one team approach. It was a pleasure to be asked to the site, I certainly got my steps in for the day during this visit.”

Best cleaned premises – office areas below 10,000 square metres: Principle Cleaning Services & Savills’ 52 Lime Street

The Principle team at 52 Lime Street, also known as The Scalpel, stand out for their exceptional commitment to cleanliness and maintenance in the office areas below 10,000 square metres category. Our team’s meticulous attention to detail and consistent quality service ensures a pristine working environment, contributing to the well-being and productivity of the building’s users. This recognition underscores our expertise in managing and maintaining professional office spaces.

Upon observing the Principle cleaning team at 52 Lime Street, the BICSc judges commented; “The passion shown by the manager and every team member at this site is second to none. The team should be considered leaders in service delivery and modernisation of service requirements. Staff training is considered key to the service delivery and with that, at times continues to change, technology beginning to play a bigger role, no man is truly left behind, with complete assurance that every staff member is listened to and trained until they are fully comfortable with all changes and new equipment/ service requirements.”

“This site and the team show that it is one of those sites which makes you feel proud to work in the cleaning industry, please enjoy this award guys, and celebrate it loudly and proudly.”

An industry ahead of the curve

Neil Spencer Cook, group managing director at The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) added:

“The quality of the entries for this year’s Golden Service Awards was more extraordinary than ever before, with over 30% more applications pushing the standards higher and higher. The strong focus on sustainability, teamwork and staff wellbeing was nice to see across many entries, with innovative approaches to daily hurdles and today’s business challenges.”

“This year’s entries see a stronger focus on valuing staff members, improving working conditions and taking care of their mental health,” adds Neil Spencer Cook. “The passion from entrants really shines through their applications and we could see that many had gone to extra efforts to create winning entries. An increase in the diversity and inclusion category shows how ahead of the curve this industry is.”

“Judging the Golden Service Awards 2024 has left us all buzzing, not least because of the new companies, different approaches and new talent that is emerging in our industry. Congratulations to all those who received a finalist nomination and the worthy winners on the day.”
