Tech She Can is a UK charity on a mission to make technology careers more inclusive and accessible for all. We believe technology should be shaped by diverse voices and used to solve society’s biggest challenges. By working with industry, educators, and government, we create engaging, real-world experiences that inspire and equip everyone – especially women, girls, and underrepresented groups, to pursue technology careers. With a strong focus on social mobility and UK-wide impact, we are building a future where everyone has the opportunity to work in technology.
Tech We Can is an educational programme from the Tech She Can charity, created to inspire children and young people to explore the opportunities available through technology and consider technology-related careers. Designed by teachers for teachers, the programme provides free, inclusive learning materials and experiences for primary and secondary students, helping schools introduce technology careers in an engaging and accessible way.
The programme includes live and on-demand lessons, lesson packs, animated content, after-school clubs and industry role models. Resources connect technology with subjects, interests and real-world applications, helping young people understand the breadth of careers available and how technology influences different industries. Materials are designed for children from age five through secondary education and are available to schools free of charge.
A key element is the Tech We Can Champions programme, which connects schools with trained industry volunteers who deliver technology lessons and careers experiences virtually or in person. Champions act as relatable role models, giving pupils opportunities to learn directly from people working across technology and understand different routes into the industry.
Tech She Can also provides free Continuous Professional Development for teachers, helping educators build their confidence and knowledge around technology careers and pathways. Its educational approach particularly aims to reach girls and groups currently underrepresented in technology, while ensuring resources and experiences remain inclusive and accessible to all children.
The programme is supported by a community of industry partners spanning multiple sectors. These partnerships help Tech She Can create industry-relevant educational experiences, showcase real careers and provide organisations with opportunities to support schools, volunteering and early-talent development.
Tech She Can reports that its free Tech We Can lessons, resources and workplace experiences have now achieved more than one million audience engagements, demonstrating the programme’s growing reach.
By connecting education with industry, Tech We Can helps young people discover where technology could take them, raises aspirations and supports the development of a more diverse future technology workforce.
