DAS Fire and Alpine Fire Engineers are proud to have been shortlisted for the Best Company Culture / Workplace Culture Initiative award at the Engage Business Media Awards 2026, recognising the success and impact of the Alpine Challenge 2025.

The nomination celebrates an initiative that brought colleagues together from across Alpine Group, strengthening relationships, encouraging teamwork and raising vital funds for charity. Held in the Peak District, the Alpine Challenge saw 118 participants from DAS Fire and Alpine Fire collectively cover 2,000km in just 14 hours, taking on routes ranging from 10km through to marathon distance. The event raised more than £14,000 for Launchpad and Two Brews, two charities supporting people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity in Reading and Manchester.

While the fundraising achievement was significant, the Challenge was about much more than distance covered or money raised. It demonstrated the culture that exists across Alpine Group, where collaboration, support and shared purpose are encouraged at every level. Colleagues challenged themselves, motivated one another, and worked together to achieve something meaningful, both for the communities the Group supports and for the people taking part.

The initiative also reflected Alpine Group’s long-term commitment to creating an environment where people can thrive. Alongside professional development opportunities, volunteering initiatives and employee wellbeing programmes, events such as the Alpine Challenge help strengthen connections across teams and businesses, creating a workplace culture built on trust, inclusion and mutual support.

Being shortlisted for this award is a testament to the people who embraced the Challenge and made it such a success.
