SPIE WIN DESIGN & INSTALLATION OF LV DISTRIBUTION FOR BIOGAS FACILITY

SPIE awarded contract for design, supply and installation of low voltage distribution for biogas facility by CNG Service Ltd.

PRESS RELEASE: London – SPIE UK, a subsidiary of SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has been awarded a new contract for the design, supply and installation of the primary low voltage (LV) distribution for the site electrical supplies to the gas upgrading equipment and site communications for CNG Service Ltd.’s biomethane to grid scheme at Sterling Pharma Solutions Ltd Cramlington site.

SPIE UK will be completing the detailed electrical design for the LV distribution, procuring the LV distribution equipment, and conducting the cabling, installation and testing of the LV power system. Tight space constraints and numerous other contractors on site will present challenges to the SPIE UK team, requiring close collaboration with the other trades to ensure safety and that the work is completed within the five-week deadline. This scheme is due to complete in October 2021.

Declan McLaughlin, Project Delivery Manager for CNG Service Ltd., said, “Once again, the SPIE UK team has shown exemplary professionalism in the way that they have worked previously with our team and the others present at our Nottingham site in 2020. The fact that we have such a longstanding relationship with the team is testament to the expertise they possess and the confidence we have in the fact that they will deliver to the highest standard.”

Michael Linford, Contracts Account Manager at SPIE UK, added, “Throughout working with CNG Service Ltd. on this contract, I’m delighted with the way the team is bringing their expertise and their ‘can do’ attitude to the fore. Working alongside numerous other contractors on a site of this size can present problems, but the team’s collaborative approach, led by Dean Smithies, SPIE’s site superintendent, is helping to overcome these effectively and is why we have built such a good relationship with CNG Service Ltd. over several years”.
