Riello UPS Expands NextEnergy UPS Range

Leading manufacturer of uninterruptible power supplies and standby power systems Riello UPS adds 600 kVA version to its NextEnergy series of data centre solutions.

The NXE 600 adds to the existing 250-300-400-500 kVA versions, with this latest addition designed specifically for larger data centres. The new NXE 600 can power parallel installations up to 4.8 MVA.

A transformer-free online UPS, the NXE 600 shares the same high-performing technologies and features of the popular NextEnergy family, including unity power (pf 1) and TÜV-certified efficiency up to 97%.

In addition, the new model offers data centre operators exceptional scalability and flexibility. Because it has front to top ventilation and front access for maintenance, there’s no need for any rear clearance. This means the NXE range can be installed back-to-back, side-to-side, against a wall, or in the corner, helping to maximise floor space.

Leo Craig, Managing Director of Riello UPS, commented: “With the addition of the NXE 600, the NextEnergy range caters for data centres of all sizes, from smaller server rooms right the way through to hyperscale facilities.

“You can parallel up to eight of the new UPS systems together, meaning you can protect large-scale mission-critical applications up to 4.8 MVA of power. And its Hot System Expansion capability enables you to easily add UPS when it’s time to scale up without having to transfer to bypass, ensuring your critical load is protected at all times.”

Like the rest of the NextEnergy family, the NXE 600 offers an Active Eco operating mode that delivers even higher efficiency (up to 98.5%) by powering the load from the bypass line, which avoids expensive and energy-intensive power factor correction whilst still filtering out harmonics.

Another energy-saving feature in parallel installations is the Efficiency Control System. When carrying lower loads, it intuitively places some UPSs into a standby move and shares the work between the remaining units, thus ensuring they operate at the highest possible efficiency.

The NextEnergy range is compatible with lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors, provides a range of peak-shaving options, and integrates easily with all standard DCIM and remote monitoring software.
