Noris Network AG, one of Germany’s leading IT service providers for data centre operations and cloud infrastructures, is building a new high-performance data centre in the Rhine-Main region. Groundbreaking will take place in April 2026, with commissioning planned for September 2027.

With a connected load of 30 megawatts and a total area of ​​approximately 7,000 square meters, one of the most powerful data centres in the Frankfurt region is being built. The facility is designed from the ground up for AI workloads: In addition to traditional servers, water-cooled high-performance systems can be operated for computationally intensive AI calculations. A cooling method patented by Noris Network allows the cooling to be adapted modularly to the respective workload. Chillerless cooling and AI racks with up to 60 rack units increase the utilisation of the space. The data centre meets the necessary requirements for companies subject to regulatory requirements – it is suitable, for example, for banks, as it fulfills all requirements of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA).

Florian Sippel, Executive Board Member and Chief Operations Officer (COO) at noris network, commented on the investment: “The demand for computing power for sovereign AI applications is growing exponentially. With our patent-pending cooling method and modular architecture, we are creating an infrastructure that can be individually adapted to the requirements of tomorrow.”

Sustainability is anchored in the building plan

In line with sustainability principles, the waste heat from the data centre is fed into the district heating network of the city of Schwalbach, thus significantly reducing its CO₂ footprint. As at all its locations, noris network also operates in Schwalbach using 100 percent renewable energy. The data centre is certified according to EN 50600 VK3-SK4, TÜV NORD TSI.STANDARD Level 3, and ISO 27001 based on IT baseline protection standards.

The Data Centre Group was commissioned as the general contractor for the construction of the data centre. Their services include the planning and construction of the turnkey data centre.
