“John and I go back to the very early days of DCME in 2014, so it’s incredibly rewarding to see this partnership with the National Data Centre Academy come together at such an important time for the industry.

 

One of the biggest challenges facing the data centre sector today is the growing skills gap. As demand across digital infrastructure continues to accelerate, the industry urgently needs practical and accessible pathways to attract new talent, support apprentices, and upskill people from outside the sector who may never previously have considered a career within data centres.

 

What makes the NDCA approach so valuable is its focus on hands-on, practical training that prepares people for real operational environments and long-term careers within the industry.

 

At DCME, we’re excited that our new regional peer-to-peer networking events can help support that mission by bringing together the wider data centre community in a more open and inclusive environment. Our London End User Networking Events are well known across the industry for connecting data centre owners, operators, procurement professionals, specifiers, and senior decision-makers, but they are intentionally highly qualified and carefully restricted.

 

These new regional events are different by design. They are intended to encourage diversity, create visibility for the sector, and welcome people from both inside and outside the industry who are interested in learning more about the opportunities available within digital infrastructure. By creating stronger regional communities and more accessible industry conversations, we hope to help broaden the talent pipeline and support the future growth of the sector.”
