MICROSOFT ANNOUNCES 2 NEW UK LEADERSHIP TEAM APPOINTMENTS

PRESS RELEASE: Microsoft has appointed Orla McGrath and Soraya Scott to the UK leadership team.

Orla McGrath, former managing director at Accenture, will lead the Microsoft Partner organisation and Soraya Scott joins as Chief Operating Officer, responsible for UK marketing, product strategy and transformation.

During her time at Accenture, Orla led their cloud-first applications business in the UK and Ireland, and drove the company’s cloud transformation. She worked with clients to ready their businesses for the digital age by using cloud technologies and platforms to drive business growth.

Soraya joins from Microsoft’s International business, where she was previously the Chief of Staff for Jean-Philippe Courtois, EVP and President, Global Sales, Marketing & Operations. During her 13-year tenure, Soraya has held a number of leadership positions across the organisation, including leading Specialist Sales in Australia and roles across enterprise, public sector and services.

Orla said: “Joining Microsoft to lead the UK partner organisation is such an amazing opportunity.  I am excited to help shape Microsoft’s partner ecosystem for the benefit of our customers and society more broadly. I couldn’t think of a more exciting and challenging opportunity.”

Soraya said: “I am thrilled to be joining Microsoft UK. I have seen the impact that Microsoft has on countries and communities when we all come together and bring the very best that we have to offer for our customers and partners. I’m looking forward to playing a pivotal role in supporting our customers and partner, driving cloud growth and delivering on our strategic priorities.”

Clare Barclay, Chief Executive Officer, Microsoft UK, said: “I am delighted to welcome Orla and Soraya to the Microsoft UK leadership team. We are at an important inflection point in the UK market, so I am excited about the depth of global experience and leadership capability both Orla and Soraya bring, and they will both play a critical role in driving the future success in the UK with our customers and partners.”
