H5 DATA CENTERS PLANS TO EXPAND TIER III DATA CENTRE FACILITY

PRESS RELEASE: H5 Data Centres has announced plans for a renovation project that will expand its main tier III data centre campus.

Renderings of the project show a smaller building extending from the building at 1645 Rockwell Ave. into the parking lot, along with a complete makeover of the building's partial red brick façade on East 13th Street, which clashes with the black-and-white brick façade used along Rockwell Avenue.

H5 Data Centers, which is based in Denver, has partnered with Cleveland-based architecture firm Arkinetics and Akron-based PTA Engineering for the project. Dale Grieder, a project manager at Arkinetics, is listed as the representative for the project.

H5 lists the current facility as a 333,000 sq ft (30,956 sqm), 10MW Tier III quality data centre/carrier hotel with room for expansion.

The century-old building once housed companies such as Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company and The Bailey Company. It can provide data services as far as Chicago, Detroit, New York City and Philadelphia, according to its website.

The company has more than 16 locations throughout the United States, which include two in Cincinnati.

This year has seen H5 Data Centers acquire seven Vxchnge data centres across the US totalling more than 250,000 sq ft (23,200 sqm). 2021 saw H5 announce a 20,000 sq ft, 3MW expansion at its Atlanta data centre, and acquired a data centre in Cincinnati, Ohio.
