A ‘500' error indicates a server issue. Generally the server that supports the website in the cloud is interrupted. These issues are generally resolved quickly as downtime is unexpected and unacceptable for many of these services.
Fastly is a USA based cloud provider, perhaps this is an indication UK services should be depending more greatly on local could resources?
As at 12.00 8th June Fastly reports : The issue has been identified and a fix has been applied https://status.fastly.com/
