The DATACENTRE.ME Charity “Christmas Kick-Off” Party took place on the evening of Thursday 28th November in central London and really started the festive season in style.
Considering this is only the fourth time this event has been run, we were totally overwhelmed with the support of 39 sponsors and around 500 industry professionals. Everyone present contributed to a truly wonderful night of fun, merriment and celebration.
The evening started at 5pm. Attendees were greeted by twinkling lights, welcoming sponsors and a well-stocked bar. The venue filled up steadily, keeping the queue at the door moving. Once the rooms were filled, Caroline took to the microphone to share thanks to all sponsors and guests who were enjoying the evening.
Food was served and the canapés were delicious and plentiful. Although the venue was crowded it was still possible to enjoy a chat and a catch-up; either at the bar or seated in one of the available booths.
The flow through the venue was constantly shifting as people moved between the bars and the dance floor where the DJ played floor-fillers and favourite Christmas tunes. The photobooth (sponsored by InfraNorth) proved extremely popular with industry friends, both old and new, joining in with the festive frivolities.
We are immensely proud to have been able to donate a jaw-dropping total of £4,500, split equally between our three chosen charities: Cancer Research UK, Alzheimer’s Society and Great Ormond Street Hospital. Thank you to our sponsors and guests for helping make these amazing charitable donations possible.

Industry information portal DATACENTRE.ME was launched on 8th December 2011 and has become a well-known and well-respected name in the world of data centres.
In September 2013 we launched our end user networking events which run on a quarterly basis in central London. These events have become extremely successful and well-attended with an average of between 150-200 industry colleagues attending each one. The vendor presence is limited at our events which is one of reasons that they are so popular.
We ran our first ever event outside of the UK in November 2019 with over 100 industry professionals attending a networking event in the Ballsbridge area of Dublin. The event was very well-received and we hope to run more in the future.
Our annual Charity Christmas Kick-Off Party has become a staple in the data centre calendar and is the only event that we sell tickets to attend. 10% of all proceeds gets donated to charity so we are able to help some very worthwhile causes whilst having a fantastic industry party in the process. Since launching this event in November 2016 we have been able to donate over £10,000 to charity!
