Leading uninterruptible power supply manufacturer Riello UPS will mark the official UK launch of its expanded Multi Power range of modular solutions at next month’s Data Centre World show at London’s Excel on the 11 & 12 March.
The exciting extension to the Multi Power series includes two new power modules – 15 kW and 25 kW both 2U in height – to go alongside the best-selling 42 kW version.
In addition, the upgrade includes a dedicated cabinet to house the new power modules. The compact chassis measures just 60 cm wide by 1.2 metres high, making it an ideal choice for smaller data centres and applications with limited floor space.
The compact cabinet holds a maximum of five power modules, providing a power range of up to 60 kW N+1 (for the 15 kW modules) and 100 kW N+1 (for the 25 kW modules) in a single frame. Four cabinets can be paralleled together to increase capacity to 240 kW N+1 and 400 kW N+1 respectively.
With the existing Multi Power 42 kW power modules, up to seven can go in a standard cabinet for 252 kW N+1 capacity. Again, up to four cabinets can be installed together to deliver 1,008 kW N+1 redundancy in a single UPS system.
For mission-critical sites needing to balance high power density in a limited footprint, there’s also a choice of combination cabinets housing both power modules and battery shelves together.
Riello UPS is officially launching the extended Multi Power range on its stand (D920) at Data Centre World. Its team will be on hand to demo the new modules and cabinets, plus several other products from its range of data centre UPS systems.
Leo Craig, Riello UPS Managing Director, said: “Our extended and enhanced Multi Power range guarantees data centres and other mission-critical sites scalable, secure and high-quality power.
“With the introduction of new power modules and a compact cabinet, we are broadening the market for modular UPS and enabling smaller applications to enjoy the same benefits as data centres and similar large-scale projects.
“Our modern way of life increasingly depends on ‘Internet of Things’ applications, edge computing and micro data centres to deliver low latency connectivity. Our Multi Power range provides these applications the installation flexibility and maximum availability they rely on to perform.”
The new and improved modular Multi Power incorporates all the key features and benefits that have already made it an award-winner. It earned the ‘Data Centre Energy Efficiency Project of the Year’ prize at the Data Centre Solutions (DCS) Awards 2018.
In online double conversion mode the Multi Power is capable of 96.5% operating efficiency. While it also features a special Energy Saving Mode that delivers 95%+ efficiency even carrying low loads of just 20-25%. This minimises waste and reduces electricity costs across all load levels.
In addition, the Multi Power offers data centres simple scalability. Operators can size their UPS correctly according to their load requirements at initial installation then “pay as you grow” by adding extra power modules, batteries and cabinets as and when they need to increase capacity or autonomy.
Not only does this minimise the initial investment, it also gives data centre operators far greater control over the total cost of ownership (TCO).
Another benefit of the revamped Multi Power is its complete front access for all modules and key components. Each module is also hot-swappable to ensure easy downtime-free UPS maintenance.
