The build centres on a 100-tonne steel frame, its faceted rafters shaped to support a sweeping roofline rather than the flat, familiar profile most industrial buildings share. Thousands of square metres of roofing and cladding were fitted across that frame, wrapping it in a weathertight envelope designed to protect critical digital infrastructure for years to come. 

The exterior brings genuine visual interest to a building type that rarely gets any. A standing seam roof system runs across the top in smooth, continuous lines, paired with a rainscreen facade of brick slip and terracotta tile that gives the building texture and warmth more often associated with architecture than infrastructure. 

Internally, the priorities shifted towards protection and performance. Extensive whitewall installation, intumescent fire painting across the main structural steel, and first floor concrete decking all played their part in creating a space built to perform reliably behind the scenes, long after the finishing touches were complete.
