CEL HIRING HEAD OF PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

CEL are a licensed manufacturer of ABB MNS Switchgear Systems, manufacturing in Ireland and the UK and distributing globally. The addition of a new manufacturing plant in the UK will result in substantial revenue growth and a doubling of our workforce over the next 5 years.

To support this growth and to ensure that we continue to provide class leading support to our customers, CEL are recruiting a Head of Product Development and Innovation. This is a new role, and the successful candidate will be based in our Dublin office, and will lead the prioritisation of product / process related initiatives within the company, both from a strategic and operation perspective, aligned with existing and future company goals.

The Role:

The Head of Product Development and Innovation, working very closely with the Managing Director, will drive the cross functional collaboration with our production, engineering, projects, and sales departments in delivering and implementing our new products and processes from concept to delivery and provide the relevant departments with the necessary tools and background knowledge to build a team and a culture of excellence.

Role Specification:

• Development and implementation of products and processes already identified by company.
• Defining the new product development and innovation processes and developing them in commercially viable solutions and integrating them into the rest of the company.
• Defining and monitor the customer experience of our products and oversee continued improvements to the user experience.
• Product certification to enhance opportunities and develop into marketplace.
• Being a Brand Ambassador- meeting potential clients and presenting CEL’s product solutions

Skills Required with proven experience:

• Proven leadership, management, and motivation skills.
• Strong analytical skills including demonstrated experience in product development and innovation and commercial management.
• Solid understanding of market, competitors & customer requirements.
• Strategically Oriented – solid understanding of the integrated set of products and services included within the CEL portfolio; able to identify opportunities & define and implement these opportunities.
• Financial Management – develop and manage budgets, drive down costs wherever possible.
• Presentation and communication skills – superior, both written and oral. Experience in report writing.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Eng., (Mechanical/Process/Structural/Electrical/Systems or similar).
• MBA, while not essential, would be an advantage.
• Industry related engineering experience for a minimum of 3 years.
