ARCADIZ CONSTRUCTS FIBRE ROUTE CONNECTING BENELUX DATA CENTRES

PRESS RELEASE: Benelux telecom services provider Arcadiz has expanded its on-net locations in Amsterdam with three data centre clusters around Science Park, InterXion and Equinix. With the expansion, Arcadiz connects 14 data centres in Amsterdam via two redundant low-latency fibre routes with most carrier neutral data centres in Belgium. The other Amsterdam data centres can be connected near-net via local fibre optics.

For the redundant path, a unique route has been chosen to the east via Liege, Maastricht, Eindhoven and Utrecht. To the west, Arcadiz is using the current connection across Antwerp, Roosendaal, Rotterdam and Leiden. The technology used is future-oriented and allows the transport of 400G customer connections. Seven other Dutch data centres are accessible on the fibre optic paths.

The major expansion of Arcadiz’s optical backbone is expected to provide great added value for Belgian, Luxembourg and Paris customers to Amsterdam, both technically and commercially. Almost all Amsterdam data centres can now be reached on-net or near-net from Belgium, with separate routing down to street level to guarantee optimal continuity and security.
