Alpine Group Challenge Raises More Than £14,000 for Homelessness Charities in Epic Peak District Challenge
Bury-based business Alpine Group raised more than £14,000 for local charities as part of the inaugural Alpine Group Challenge.
The endurance challenge saw 118 participants from sister companies DAS Fire and Alpine Fire collectively cover 2,000 km in just 14 hours across some of the Peak District’s most stunning landscapes. WestBridge, Alpine Group’s investment company, were also in attendance to support the team throughout the day.
The ambitious event exceeded all expectations, with the original £10,000 target smashed thanks to incredible support from both participants and suppliers.
All of the funds raised will be split equally between two vital local charities: Launchpad (Reading), which provides supported accommodation for over 100 people, support to prevent people from becoming homeless and pathways into stable housing for vulnerable individuals, and Two Brews (Manchester), which delivers hot meals, essential supplies and human connection to rough sleepers.
“Alpine is more than a workplace, it’s a community,” Claire Owens, Group CEO said. “We collaborate, support one another and ensure every new team member is welcomed with a strong support model. Initiatives like the Challenge demonstrate that our culture extends beyond office walls. You don’t build exceptional businesses without investing in exceptional people.”
“Our commitment to sustainable investment and ESG is reflected in our support for initiatives like this,” said Peter Barkley, Partner at WestBridge. “Bringing Alpine and DAS together to form Alpine Group was about more than structure, it’s about developing collaboration, openness, and team spirit. I’m a strong advocate for making this a regular event.”
Kirsti Wilson, Head of Marketing and Fundraising at Launchpad said: “We’re incredibly grateful to the amazing team who took on the Peaks Challenge and raised thousands of pounds for Launchpad. Your determination, teamwork and generosity will make a real difference to people in Reading who are struggling with homelessness and housing insecurity. Thank you for going the extra mile, literally!”
“We’re blown away by the dedication of the team in completing their challenge day and raising over £14,000,” said Pete Lock, Co-Founder of Two Brews. “Thanks to their support, Two Brews can deliver hot meals, essential supplies, and most importantly, a lifeline of connection to people experiencing homelessness in Manchester. Together, we’re making sure no one is left behind.”
The success of the Alpine Group Challenge 2025 demonstrates the power of collective action in addressing homelessness, with every step taken contributing directly to changing lives in Reading and Manchester communities.
