AIRE NETWORKS LAUNCHES NEW DATA CENTRE FACILITY
PRESS RELEASE: Grupo Aire has invested 2.5 million euros in its first Data Centre in Malaga, which has become a nerve centre for both next-generation cloud services and connectivity at a national level, and enhances the role of Malaga as a strategic enclave in the Information Technology sector.
The new facility, which is located in the Malaga TechPark , was attended this Friday by the Minister for Economic Transformation, Industry, Knowledge and Universities, Rogelio Velasco; the director of the Málaga TechPark, Felipe Romera, and Raúl Aledo , CEO of Aire Grupo and Aire Networks (fourth largest wholesale telecommunications operator in Spain).
The new Grupo Aire Data Centre joins those in Talavera de la Reina and Elche “in a firm commitment to regionalisation and localisation to promote the delivery of services and infrastructures to companies in a cloud environment “.
For this, Grupo Aire “has a complete and differential portfolio of cloud services that from the new data centre in Malaga makes available to large, small, medium-sized companies and public administrations of the Andalusian Autonomous Community and neighbouring ones that need proximity data centres”.
The data centre is located in the Technological Park of Andalusia, a strategic axis in innovation and technology, and will have a direct impact on the local economy of both Malaga and the Community, promoting the development of companies in the sector with a more competitive, efficient market and productive.
The new installation becomes “a great attraction also for the creation of new companies, for those with planned expansion plans and for newly created start-ups that increasingly need to have more facilities and cloud services with the maximum guarantees”.
Bet on local talent
In addition, they have stressed that, following its policy of job creation and commitment to local talent, Grupo Aire will generate direct and indirect employment that, according to estimates, could be around 350 jobs in the coming years, turning the new data centre into a catalyst of economic growth for the area. In addition, numerous companies will be able to develop business and many others will be able to tackle their digital transformation process, which will revert to the boost of the local economy.
Raúl Aledo, CEO of Grupo Aire, has stressed that “we continue to make progress in our firm goal of creating a network of proximity data centres and cloud services capable of offering maximum benefits to both companies and public administrations”.

The new data centre also represents a commitment to sustainability, with access to an electricity supply preferably from renewable sources, with favourable environmental conditions marked by a low risk of natural hazards, as well as the possibility of accelerating the deployment of renewable energy and improving integration and flexibility of the network.
