GAS POWER FOR A DATA CENTRE, WHILST CONNECTION TO GRID IS SECURED

BRIDGING POWER SUPPLY

A colocation provider was unable to connect power from the grid to a data centre they were developing until several months after the site was due to come online. There was an estimated delay of 2 years for grid connection. Delaying the construction of the site was not an option. They needed to find a bridging power supply that could support the site until a connection was available.

The power supply needed to be reliable and use green technology that met with EU standards. It needed to have the capacity to supply the data centre with enough power as it became fully active.

THE OUTCOME

Aggreko were able to provide an ideal solution that met the customer requirements within 12 weeks. They provided, installed and commissioned enough generators to power the data centre as it ramped up, and more besides!
